Bicycling and walking to school are verdant, healthy modes of transportation. Recognizing the need to improve the viability of these options, leaders nationwide are introducing Safe Routes to School (SRTS) programs into their communities. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation and transportation consultant SAA Design Group are collaborating statewide with local school administrators, teachers and parents to develop and implement SRTS plans.

SAA is a transportation planning and civil engineering consultant hired by the State of Wisconsin to assist communities with SRTS program planning. SAA provides professional assistance to communities and schools for planning and infrastructure grant applications, community education and outreach, SRTS plan development, engineering and urban design, construction and program implementation.
